SHOOTERS HILL LTC CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES THIS SUNDAY 9TH JUNE

The closing date for entries is now CLOSED, the last date to enter was yesterday. Don’t forget those that have entered, you will need to be available all day this Sunday and then the finals day is Sunday 21st July.

WALKING TENNIS‍ SESSIONS

Want to play tennis still but at a slower pace, recovering from injury or are you a complete beginner wanting a bit more time and practice in a supportive setting? Come and try Walking Tennis with us and bring a friend. It’s a slower game, where the ball can bounce twice, there is no jumping or running and you play with modified equipment. Our NEW SESSION STARTS ON TUESDAY 21st MAY 12noon till 13.00 and weekly thereafter. The next one will be Tuesday 11th June. £3 for members and £5 for non members. SUNDAY JUNIOR COMPETITION

Sunday afternoon a competition was held by Jim Putman for the end of the Spring term. The winner was Anna Putman (hope you like the photo)

KENT VOLUNTEER AWARD ON VOLUTEERING WEEK

Jim Putman was presented on Sunday with an award from Kent to recognise all the volunteering he does with the juniors within our club. A well deserved award.

SUMMER TEAM NEWS & RESULTS

North Kent Cup

Tom Warburton & Oksana Boklag played in the Mixed Doubles against Bromley Wendover last Monday. It was a hard fought match and sadly they lost 6-3, 6-1, but well played both of you.

Greg Lucas played in the Men’s Singles Quarter finals against New Ash Green, winning 6/0, 6/0. Will now play in the semi finals against either Sundridge Park or Sidcup Rec, Good Luck Greg in the next round.

Maria Perfect and Karen Attard won on Sunday against Bromley Wendover in the Ladies Doubles. 7-6, 7-6, after a big comeback. Well fought ladies, good luck in the next round.

North Kent

Men’s 1 lost to a very strong Sundridge Park 1 team in a mid week match. The team playing were Tom Warburton, Sam Morgan, Lee Cao, Tom Annable, Max Saunders and Francesco Donadio.

Kent

Men’s 4 won 4-0 against Herne Bay 3 at home. The team playing were Alex Parkinson, Chib Ejiegbu, Abel Coolen and Jason Barkworth.

Mixed 2 beat a very strong David Lloyd Kings Hill 5 at Home. It was 2-2 on sets but we had 2 more on games. the team playing were Ros McKeown & James McKeown and Ruthie Frost & Neal Tuson. Thank you for the photo.

Mixed 1 lost to Sevenoaks 3 on Sunday. The team playing were Arvind Bassi, Di Roberts, Alberta Bosco, and Francesco Donadio.

Ladies 2 won against Bearstead & Thurston 5 at home, with a 3-1 score. Well done ladies, Lasyk Grice, Alissa Harger, Stacey Yeh and Alison Farrington. Thanks for the photo ladies.

Ladies 1 lost to a very strong Headcorn team. The team playing were Tracy Davy, Cate Woodcock, Judi Fielding and Lauren Esler.

National League

Ladies beat Avenue Away on Sunday. The team playing were Natalie Ali, Ros McKeown, Oksana Boklag and Ashling Carroll.

Men’s A lost to Avenue Away on Sunday, after an exceptionally long game. The team lost 12-0, but lost 3 matches in championship tiebreaks. The team playing were Greg Lucas, Fin Renwick, Joao Ribeiro and Mylan Roberts.
