CLUB FINALS DAY SUNDAY 21ST JULY

Well after the heatwave from earlier in the week the weather was kinder to all our finalists on Sunday, with slightly cooler weather to play in. Thank you to our Official Graham for joining us again for the day, we appreciate your help. Thank you to those of you who volunteered to set up, worked behind the bar, did the washing up, cleared up and all those other tasks, it always takes an army of volunteers to help, so we are very grateful to you all. We hope everyone enjoyed the food and drinks too. After a wonderful days tennis, the results are as follows:

NORTH KENT CUP FINALS

Will take place on Sunday 28th July at Sundridge Park Club, playing on their clay courts. The day starts at 11.45. Ladies Singles for our Natalie starts at approximately 13.15. The Ladies Vets Doubles for Maria and Karen will start approximately 14.15. I am sure the ladies would love some support if you can go along and cheer.

JUNIOR SUMMER CAMPS

Wow, its almost the kids summer holidays, so don’t forget to book. Tom has put all the dates up on his pages on Clubspark, so you can be super organised and book now. As usual you can book a day or the whole week (4 days). Camps will be happening for five weeks across the holidays And you can of course have non members, family and friends book too. WALKING TENNIS‍ SESSIONS

Want to play tennis still but at a slower pace, recovering from injury or are you a complete beginner wanting a bit more time and practice in a supportive setting? Come and try Walking Tennis with us and bring a friend. It’s a slower game, where the ball can bounce twice, there is no jumping or running and you play with modified equipment. Sessions are on Tuesdays at 12noon till 13.00. £3 for members and £5 for non members. Go to Tom’s page on Clubspark to book a place:

SUMMER TEAM NEWS & RESULTS

Good Luck to all our teams playing in their up coming matches this week, its coming towards the end of the Summer Season, so its all left to play for.

North Kent

Over 60’s Men’s narrowly beat Sidcup Rec Away, 2.5-1.5. This means they are still at the top of the league with one game to go, however there are still 3 teams that could win. Well played gents, Gregg Gadd & Jon Beaumont and Rob Thomas & John Fielding. Thanks for the photo too.

Mixed 1 drew away with Dartford David Lloyd 1. The team playing were Tim Morgan, Jan Are Mo, Sam Morgan, Natalie Ali, Maria Perfect and Ashling Carroll.

Men’s 2 won against Gravesham Away. The team playing were Joao Ribeiro, Jack Rowland, Jan Are Mo, Ricardo Pinheiro, Jack Andrews and Arvind Bassi.

Ladies 1 almost got a draw on Saturday against Sundridge Park 1 Away, however they lost by half a rubber. However this is a wonderful results against the top team in NK. Well played ladies, Maria Perfect, Karen Attard, Natalie Ali and Ashling Carroll.

Men’s 1 won 8-4 against Sidcup Rec 1 at Home. This is their first win of the summer season, so they are super happy and have two more games to go. Well played gentlemen, Mylan Roberts, Rob Ratcliffe,  Fin Renwick, Max Saunders, Francesco Donadio and Arvind Bassi. Thanks for the photo and hope you enjoyed your well deserved drinks!

Kent

Over 60’s Men beat Whitstable at home, 2-2 matches, 5-4 on sets. Welcome to James Shenton who played his debut match for the team, and a big thank you to Dave Jenkins for stepping in last minute. The rest of the team playing were Rob Thomas and Tony Millard. Congratulations to Dave & Tony who pinched the tie break set to win.
